Pasture Raised Pork for Sale

These gentle, formerly critically endangered breed of hogs, were a wonderful addition to our farm for the past 5 years or so. But we are moving on to other things, which means that we will be selling pork this autumn instead of piglets or breeding pairs.

These American Guinea Hogs were raised on rotating, non-certified organic pasture, supplemented with organic hay, table scraps, and raw cow's milk. They were well loved and cared for by our family and have a wonderful disposition.

Our pigs range in weight from about 80# -100#. We charge $2.50/lb hanging weight and require a $50 deposit which will go toward the purchase price. Balance is due at time of delivery to the processor. Processing is additional. Cost for processing is $41/whole or $20.50/half plus .41/lb live weight. We use the Meat Market in Baraboo, a certified meat processor that is very easy to work with. If you want sausage, or to have your bacon or ham smoked by the butcher, let us know and we can have that done for an extra fee. Contact us if you are interested in some local pork. 400trailhomestead@gmail.com

Lonely Male Emu Looking for Love

Mango, our hand raised emu, is the only emu left on our farm! We just sold two of his companions to a lovely young farmer. Now we need to find a home for Mango. He is people friendly (as friendly as a ratite can get;-) and use to being handled and pet. He is actually quite content being alone, but would love to be paired with a female, I am sure. If you are interested in him as a pet, please email and let us know!

Our Nigerian Dwarf Goat Herd was sold this summer to a wonderful farm near Harvard, IL
